Wonderful ride to work and back! Not too hot and actually thought I was going to be rained on on the way home. Nope. Just a gorgeous ride along the Bosque trail with a brief intermission down by my ponds and along the river. I opted to go up Route 66 / Central and up the big hill on Atrisco.

It’s a crazy week and it’s only the second day! Kind of strange. Finished up a lot at work and even sold some more stuff too.
Last night I joined a friend for a late, birthday celebration food/drink thing in the Nob Hill area. It was nice. Awesome cajun/avocado burger thing that rocked!
Payroll today and some late invoicing to do. I actually think I’m going to ride my bike today so I better get going…

Wow, another rare day where I missed to post! Only a few of those over the past few years.
Saturday night I went out with a friend and we went downtown to somewhere… Elevated? The place is actually kind of nice. Nice bar, lounge area, patio overlooking Central/Route 66 and some nice pool tables too. For a Saturday night, it was pretty dead. I can say that because it’s been a long time since I closed down a bar. I’m way to old for this 🙂
Sunday I was a bit sluggish but survived. I mowed the grass and worked on the yard before the rain came. That felt good. I went and looked at another 300, this one has SUPER dark windows, like you can be standing outside and not see in. A little too gangsta for me. I stopped by and said hi to mom and dad. They leave today for Houston. More on that later in the week. Good thoughts for all.
Stopped off at the grocery store on the way to pick up some stuff. I still find it amazing that it is VERY difficult to run through the grocery store and NOT spend $80. What happened to $25 grocery stops?
I picked up a steak to grill, a nice rib-eye. Ewwww. Wally World has officially turned me off of their meats. What was I expecting.
I tried working at night but ended up mostly just organizing some things.
It is SO great to NOT have to be at work at 8:30 am. I have to: close out the week, get ready to close out the month, get ready for inventory, and change all the prices on the website. A normal day.

Frustrating days. I feel like someone has punched me in the gut, then while I was catching my breath, they stomped me to the ground and then stepped on my tongue. That’s about as close as I can describe the feeling without getting more graphic.
Sale has been MUCH slower in people volume, but people still buying so I am not complaining. Not quite as good as the first week of the sale, but close. So all is well enough.
Again, great people coming through the doors. Good stories and more.
When I came home yesterday, my music-loving neighbors had left the latest SPIN magazine with the cover story about Prince and the 25th Anniversary of Purple Rain coming out. They know I’m a Prince fan-boy so it was good. I don’t think I’ve read an actual magazine in over a year! It was kind of fun to actually ‘flip’ pages! Wow! Interesting article and even had a ‘websclusive’ where I could download some cool Prince covers. Not bad. Added it to iTunes and will take it with me on the bike rides.
It rained most of the day yesterday and then last night I went to Jill & Donald’s house for pizza and beers. Emma was a pill and after Donald went to go put her to bed, Jill and I got to talk for a while. That was nice.
But, the best news is that the sale is over. Finis. Done. Over. I can get back to my ‘normal’ life again.
Plans now? Dinner and then go out with a friend for some drinks tonight. Tomorrow…. NOTHING! I have to mow the grass and I would love to head out on the bike for a few hours. That would make for a great weekend…

Another day down. Not so much traffic for the sale and the phones were a bit more quiet than I would wish. I need a lot of sales today and tomorrow – if not just to pay the extra advertising for this week.
Dad came out the factory yesterday afternoon to give us some paperwork and he might as well have been tap dancing into the office. Prior to his arrival I actually had some conversation with my brother. I think I made him sick.
Lots of rain last night which was nice. I was looking at the HUGE stack of papers on my desk and was disgusted when I realized that I had not paid any bills this month. Damn. I’ll have to see if I get any late charges, it will be close. I truly hate when I do that as it’s all on me – nobody else to blame on that.
Off to the work and sell some doors!

Yesterday was a day. Closed lots of deals. Dad was doing great with some new blood and platelets – like nothing wrong! 🙂
On the way home I washed my car (semi annual event) and visited two car lots. The one that had the one I should have purchased, has two new ones – both 2008’s and with the cloth interior. Jill called me about a dealer over by Costco that just put one out. I ran over there right before they closed. It’s also a 2008, but the touring edition so it’s too expensive also. I’ll keep looking…
I was tired last night so I pretty much went to sleep after having a bowl of cereal for dinner and talking on the phone for a bit. I left the puppies out of their kennels again and they were SOOOOO happy this morning. They miss the family and go around looking to see where everyone is.
Today has already started off a bit rough but I’m expecting some sales!

Yesterday was kind of crazy – mostly just because others had some things pop up and had to leave. It wasn’t five minutes later that we had a rush of customers, pickups, and phone calls – Murphy’s Law. It all worked out ok.
My sister is in from Colorado so we held the ‘official’ Father’s Day celebration last night. The weather turned sort of rainy so we stayed inside. Dad was still kind of fever-y last night but was in good spirits. Little Emma wanted me to sit next to her last night so I was in entertain mode.
After I left, my dad’s fever kept up so the took him to the hospital. No news is good news so far. He had a scheduled appointment this morning that I hope allows him to head up to Santa Fe for.
Today should be a big day for the sale so I am off!

Happy Anniversary to: Dirk & Kat

The Anniversary of Dirk and Kat - Kirk
Fifteen years ago today we drove up to Santa Fe for an awesome shindig at this little house on Gomez street. Friends, family – a beautiful hot summer day. Oh, and my favorite friends tied the knot as well!
I’ve known Kat since 1984 and Dirk since 1991 – and together they are like one of those super-couples. I think I will start referring to them as either ‘Dat’ or ‘Kirk’ – I’ll work on that one…
Their ceremony was special for Sunnee and I as well knowing that we were going to get married less than thirty days later.
Here are some great photos from then.
Happy 15th Anniversary!
